Ever been caught off-guard at the airport? We’ve all been there! Remember:
- Download the Pre-Check App & complete the Honduras pre-check form.
- Complete the online customs form.
- Check new airline schedules for September 2023.
Clarity is the key to seamless travel planning. It’s essential to know the ins and outs of your destination, especially when planning a visit to Honduras.
Here’s a concise, digestible rundown of what you need to keep in mind:

1. Honduras Pre-Check

No more last-minute scrambling. The Pre-Check form is back online and required for entry from March 23, 2023. Look for the PRECHEQUEO MIGRATORIO APP on your app store and get it done! (see the icon here). You’ll receive an email with your pre-check form, shortly after submission. I had issues with the ‘foreseen address’. I tried “Utila”, my “Barrio & Utila”, and neither worked. Finally I put “Barrio [}, Utila, Islas de la Bahia” and it worked. Please comment on your experiences.
Interesting how our travel experiences differ, isn’t it? While some were asked to present their pre-check form before boarding, others experienced the contrary.
One way tickets: This time I was not asked for my residency card, or a return ticket. While other times I have been asked to present proof of onward travel, or residency proof. I was not asked for either upon departure from Toronto.
2. Customs Form
Honduras ditched the paper and goes digital with the new online customs form. Filling it out prior to entry to Honduras will make your arrival process smoother. At the top of the declaration, you can change the language using the dropdown menu shown below:

A common question is “what’s the airport name we’re flying into”? They’ve just added the city names, whereas before it just listed the official name. Yay!!! See the Roatan airport highlighted in blue – Juan Manuel Galvez.
You’ll be given a QR code, so take a screenshot, in case you cannot connect to your data upon arrival, you’ll have it saved in your photos.
3. Updated Airline Schedule
Be in the know. Stay updated on the September 2023 air-traffic schedules for fuss-free travel, and for assistance in booking your travel. Common travel itineraries are from Saturday to Saturday. If you’re heading to Utila, there may be more charter flight options from Roatan to Utila on those days.

4. Six-Month Passport Validity
Visiting Honduras? Plan ahead and avoid unwelcome surprises. Your passport must be good for at least six more months. So, double-check your expiry dates!
