1. Complete the Online Customs Form (Online Only!)

Honduras requires all travelers to complete an online customs form before arrival—paper forms are no longer accepted, even if handed out by airlines. Completing it ahead of time will make your airport experience much smoother!
📅 Important: The form can only be filled out within five days of travel—if you’re trying earlier, it won’t go through.
⚠️ Error Messages? The system’s error messages are cryptic, so if you’re having trouble submitting the form, this is likely the issue.
Pro Tip: Take a screenshot of your QR code after submitting the form. Wi-Fi at the airport can be unreliable, and European travelers have reported needing a VPN to access the form from home.
Trouble Connecting? If you can’t access the form, ask someone in the “residents & nationals only” line to share their hotspot.
Need additional help? Read on… At the top of the declaration, you can change the language to “English” using the dropdown menu and change it to “en_US” shown below:

The rest of the form is fairly straightforward, but you may encounter issues when entering your destination address. To avoid any confusion, check with your accommodation provider for the correct address in advance. If you’re still unsure, the Utila Expats Facebook Group is a great resource—post your question there, and someone will likely be able to assist you.
2. Check the Latest Airline Schedules
Here’s the latest international airline schedule updated as of February 1, 2025.
Travelers should be aware that Utila’s airport is currently in poor condition, with numerous potholes making it unsuitable for commercial flights. As a result, only small charter planes carrying 3-5 passengers are operating.
🚨 Won’t arrive in time for the ferry? No problem! You can reach out to Janine Jackson via WhatsApp at +504 9692.1615 to arrange a charter flight. If you’re planning to fly directly to Utila, be sure to book a private charter in advance.
Many travelers still prefer to fly into Roatán and take the ferry to Utila as a more reliable option. If you’re flying into Roatán and landing by 1:00 PM, you should have enough time to clear customs and make the Utila ferry (see below).
✈️ Popular Option: Many visitors book Saturday-to-Saturday trips to sync with convenient charter flights from Roatán to Utila.

3. Utila Ferry Schedule & Booking Tips
There are now two ferry options connecting Roatán and Utila! Yay!
This is the Honduras Dream Ferry Schedule: This is the ferry service that has been in operation already:
🚢 Honduras Dream Ferries: Operates routes between Roatán, Utila, and La Ceiba.
- Roatán → Utila: Departs 2:00 PM, arrives 3:00 PM
- Flight Landing by 1:00 PM? You’ll likely have time to make the ferry!
💰 Pro Tip: Purchase your Utila Dream Ferry ticket online for a 10% discount and screenshot the confirmation—especially helpful if Wi-Fi is limited upon arrival.
🚢 *NEW* Galaxy Wave Ferry: Now running weekend routes between Roatán and Utila!
- Schedule: Runs once on Friday to Roatan and once on Sunday from Roatan to Utila
- Departure Location: The dock next to the Dream Ferries in Roatán
- Tickets: Can be booked online or at the terminal in Roatan. In Utila, tickets can be purchased at the office to the west of the Municipal Dock, where The Beach Lounge used to be, before you reach Paradise Divers.
4. No More Honduras Pre-Check
Great news! Honduras has removed the immigration pre-check form requirement, making entry even easier. Some airlines may still mention it on their websites, but it’s no longer necessary. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry.
5. British Travelers: Visa Required in Advance
If you hold a British passport, you now must obtain a visa before arriving in Honduras. Visas on arrival are no longer an option.
