1. Complete the Online Customs Form (ONLINE ONLY):

You must complete this form before your arrival—no paper forms are accepted, even if handed out by your airline. So, complete the form online and save yourself the hassle of connecting to the wifi at the airport.

💡 Utila Tip: Take a screenshot of the QR code you’ll receive after submitting the form, just in case you run into Wi-Fi issues at the airport. European travelers have reported needing a VPN to access the form from home, so this may help if you’re having trouble connecting.

If you can’t connect, ask someone in the “residents & nationals only” line to share their hotspot.

At the top of the declaration, you can change the language using the dropdown menu shown below:

A common question is “what’s the airport name we’re flying into”? They’ve just added the city names, whereas before it just listed the official name. Yay!!! See the Roatan airport highlighted in blue – Juan Manuel Galvez.

2. Check New Airline Schedules: Exciting times for travel! Airline schedules have been updated for October 6th, 2024, so be sure to double-check your flight plans. If you’re landing in Roatan by 1:00 pm, you should have just enough time to clear customs and catch the ferry to Utila. Saturday-to-Saturday trips are especially popular, offering convenient connections for charter flights between Roatan and Utila.

3. Utila Ferry Schedule:

The Honduras Dream Ferries continue to operate routes connecting Roatan, Utila, and La Ceiba. The ferry leaves Dixon Cove in Roatan at 2:00 pm and arrives in Utila around 3:00 pm. If your flight lands by 1:00 pm, you’ll likely have time to clear customs and grab a taxi to the ferry terminal.

🚨 Missed the ferry? No problem! You can reach out to Janine Jackson via WhatsApp at +504 9692.1615 to arrange a last-minute charter flight.

💰 Pro Tip: Purchase your ferry ticket online for a 10% discount and screenshot the confirmation—especially helpful if Wi-Fi is limited upon arrival.

The jury is still out on the rumors about the Galaxy Ferry offering services to Utila. It is rumored they have rented the former Beach Lounge Restaurant for their office?

4. No More Honduras Pre-Check

Great news! Honduras has removed the immigration pre-check form requirement, making entry even easier. Some airlines may still mention it on their websites, but it’s no longer necessary. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry.

5. British Passport Holders Need Visas

British travelers planning a trip to Honduras should be aware of specific entry requirements that vary depending on how you’re arriving:

  • Visa Requirements: If you’re entering by plane or overland, you’ll need to secure a visa in advance. While British passport holders could previously obtain a visa on arrival, this option is no longer available, so be sure to arrange your visa prior to travel.

Click here for information about obtaining your Honduras visa.  You’ll need to schedule an appointment with the Honduran Embassy in London at hondurasembassyuk@gmail.com (yes, it’s a Gmail address!), to have them stamp your passport.

In additional, you’ll need 6 months of validity on your passport & 2 blank pages available.

The link on the government of the UK website sends you to the Honduran Embassy’s website. To me, it doesn’t look official, but

Fees range from £30 for a 30-day stay to £60 for 90 days.
