Utila Dream Ferry

Great travel news to share! The Utila Dream is making daily trips from Utila to Roatan!

The Utila Dream Ferry has begun daily trips between Utila and Roatan, starting today. This means that you’ll be able to fly into Roatan (see available flights below) which is the neighboring island to Utila. If you arrive around 1pm, you’ll be able to take the Utila Dream Ferry to Utila the same day. Remember that when you arrive in Roatan, the timing to make the departure of the Utila Dream Ferry at 2pm can be extremely tight!!!

To fast-track your way through customs and immigration in Roatan, if you show proof of onward travel to Utila, show them your reservation or your ferry tickets, etc., they will allow you to make your way to the leftmost line at immigration. This line is normally for locals and residents, and is always much shorter and faster, so  you have a great chance of catching the Utila ferry.   It’s my understanding that the latest possible time for you to make the ferry would be an airport arrival before 1:00 PM. 

 

 

Before You Travel

Don’t forget that you need to fill out the pre-check in form before arriving. Also, remember:
  1. Honduras requires a negative COVID rapid test to allow entrance to the country.
  2. This test needs to be  within 72 hours from your departure from the United States. It’s a good idea to print out several copies of your test results, highlight your names & other pertinent information to expedite your check-in at the airport.
  3. Your passport needs to have at least 6 months before expiry, or you will be not be allowed to fly.

European Travel

Air Europa announced their first flight to La Ceiba on Thursday Dec. 10th, 2020.

La Ceiba, Honduras is the coastal town across from the Bay Islands of Roatan & Utila. However, their flight bookings still show destinations of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, Honduras (which is still closed due to flooding from the recent hurricanes Eta and Iota). So hopefully they’ll update their site and begin flying to Europe again!
