Great news! Miraculously, the airport in San Pedro Sula is scheduled to open on Wednesday Dec 31st, 2020! Honduran immigration authorities posted on their facebook page that scheduled international flights will re-commence on Wednesday, as did the Honduran government in their press release yesterday.

As many of you know, the two hurricanes Eta & Iota caused severe flooding in the region where the San Pedro Sula Airport is located. The timeframe for re-opening is incredible, considering all the airport equipment, computers, luggage carousels, luggage scales, etc., were all immersed in muddy water for days. It’s incredible that they have the airport ready to go so quickly, as many anticipated re-opening for February 2021!
