First things first, if you’re planning a trip to Utila, Honduras, there are a few essential travel tips you need to know to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey:

1. Complete the Online Customs Form: Honduras has gone digital, so complete the form ahead of time please! To make your arrival even smoother, it’s now mandatory to fill out the Honduras customs form ONLINE! Click on the link to access it, or scan the QR code: online customs form.
Even if your airline provides a paper customs form, it will not be accepted when you arrive.
You can complete your form prior to leaving your departure location. This will streamline your customs process and get you to the beach faster! Although some travelers are saying that they cannot fill it out in Europe, as they may need a VPN. Apparently the airport internet in Roatan is down, so ask to hotspot someone in the ‘residents & nationals only’ line, if you cannot connect.
Share the customs QR code with others while waiting to board your flight from your departure airport. They’ll thank you!

Utila Tip: You’ll be given a QR code, so take a screenshot, in case you can’t connect to your data or wi-fi upon arrival, and you’ll have it saved in your photos.
2. Check New Airline Schedules: Travel planning excitement is in the air! As of yesterday, May 31, 2024, airline schedules have been updated, so double-check your flight details. If you arrive by 1:00pm, you can catch the Utila Ferry. Many travelers find Saturday to Saturday itineraries offer the most charter flight options from Roatan to Utila.
There have been some issues with smoke obscuring visibility to the airport in Roatan. There may be delays, but I guarantee, your trip will be worth the inconvenience!
3. Utila Ferry Schedule: The Honduras Dream Ferries runs from Roatan to Utila, also with service to La Ceiba. The ferry departs from Dixon Cove in Roatan at 2pm, arriving in Utila by 3pm. If you land in Roatan by 1pm, you should be able to clear customs and catch a taxi to the ferry terminal.

Book your ferry ticket to Utila online for a 10% discount and save your confirmation photos for easy access if the internet is unavailable. Pssst: There are rumors of another ferry service starting soon!
4. Removal of Honduras Pre-Check: Great news! Immigration has lifted the pre-check requirement for travelers, although some airline sites still request this form. No more paperwork hassles. Just remember, your passport needs to be valid for six months to enter Honduras, so double-check that expiry date!
